Lisa Bernardini (Assadakah News) - The 1st international Film Music competition of compositions for action films SCORING ACTION MOVIES is underway, from an idea by composer and conductor Marco Werba, in collaboration with "Narnia Festival" and music editions "Bixio".
The participants of the contest will have the opportunity to compose new music for scenes from well-known action films, such as Goldifinger, Die Hard, Blow Out, Rambo, Terminator 2, Predator, Angel Has Fallen.
The prestigious jury, in addition to Werba himself, will be formed by Greek producer and director Ovidio Assonitis, pianist Cristiana Pegoraro, publisher Franco Bixio and director Mirko Alivernini.
The participants will need to choose nr. 3 (three) sequences from those sent by the organizers, and will need to create new music, as well as deciding at what point of the scenes start it and when to end it.
The final Awards ceremony will take place in Narni (Italy), a beautiful town in Umbria, towards the end of July, in conjunction with the closing of the 14th edition of the Narnia Festival.
“I had been dreaming for a long time of organizing this international competition, which was lacking in the international panorama, and offering composers from all over the world the opportunity to confront themselves with the action film genre” - says the artistic director Marco Werba.
“Finding yourself having to decide which music style to adopt and in which moments of the film to insert the new compositions, I believe is an exercise of proven talent and creative ability.
The music will have to be recorded with digital sampled sounds and synchronized with the various selected scenes” - concludes the well-known composer.
